Ideas emerge
Fritz Mami Gastro founded the company "Fritz Mami Gastro Insulations" in Grenzach. The insulation sector was one of the most up-and-coming industries, as processes in the chemical industry required increasingly reliable temperature stability.
The idea of offering turnkey cold storage facilities is realized. This lays the foundation for Mami Gastro's largest business area. The company headquarters is also relocated to Rheinfelden.
Due to rising demand, the need for space steadily grew. Therefore, a branch was first established in Freiburg, later a new building was moved into, and the company headquarters relocated there in 1960.
Production of cold storage doors began, later sales counters and complete shop and restaurant furnishings were added.
Largest order in the company's history at that time from a Scottish natural gas refinery.
Mami Gastro has three branches and several sales offices in Germany. In 2010, the company moved into its pioneering building complex with state-of-the-art production facilities in Umkirch.
In 2013, the idea was born to use the cold storage room's sandwich panels for the insulation of living spaces. This gave rise to the new Mami Gastro Modular Construction division.
In 2016, Mami Gastro expanded internationally for the first time. A new branch was established in Málaga, Spain, as part of a major framework contract from the food industry. Almost simultaneously, our site in Orléans, France, was established.
The guiding principle of "Everything from a single source" has become increasingly established, allowing the company to draw on decades of experience in the various industries and the synergies between its business units. This is how Mami Gastro GmbH remains "always one step ahead." We serve our customers from currently 12 locations in five countries and through a closely knit service network.
With Daniel Weckesser, the next generation joins the management team. The family tradition of Mami Gastro GmbH continues into the fourth generation.
